With experience in classical music, film, hip-hop, industrial, punk, rock, and more, he will be able to guide you along your specific artistic journey. His teaching philosophy centers around getting artists to find their unique voice and write like themselves - a value held by his previous mentors such as Moor Mother, Oscar Bettison, Nina Young, Wendel Patrick, and Ted Hearne. The creative and compositional exercises used in these lessons are based on previous mentorship, as well as The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron, and Sclupting in Time, by Andrei Tarkovsky. The pillars of his creative process that he will explore in lessons are improvisation, collaboration, and live performance. JURAKHAN can also offer extensive technical training in programs like Ableton, Sibelius, and MAXmsp.
